This is an extremely exciting
time for Marriott International
here in Australia and across the
Pacific, as we continue to grow
our footprint across the region.
Following the merger with
Starwood Hotels & Resorts last
year, we now have 24 hotels currently in operation in the region, including
a number of iconic properties such as Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas
Resort, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast, Sheraton on the Park,
Sydney and Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay, The Westin
Sydney and The Westin Melbourne.
We also have a combined pipeline of 20 hotels, which are currently
under development and will open over the next four years, including Four
Points by Sheraton Melbourne Docklands and Fiji Marriott Resort Momi
Bay, both opening next month. This year will see the reentry of the famed
W Hotels brand into Australia, with the opening of W Brisbane in
December and the debut of Marriott’s tech-forward incubator brand Aloft
Hotels, when Aloft Perth opens in August. We were also delighted to
re-open Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island, Fiji in January following
the hotel’s completion of a significant renovation, and look forward to
celebrating the relaunch of Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel Circular Quay
when it completes its $20 million revitalisation project in March, 2017.
With this growth comes more choice for our customers. Large, small,
luxury or boutique, we have a brand and hotel for every experience.
From a convention or large-scale event in Fiji, to chef-crafted culinary
experiences for executive meetings in Melbourne, Australia, our
portfolio of choices is the broadest in the industry and suits our
customers every needs.
